| GREAT SOUND, WHILE IT LASTS - Scores 3/5
I found the sound quality to be excellent for its size. I brought it away on a stag and everyone was amazed that such full, rich sound could come from such small speakers. However, I soon noticed the sound quality markedly diminished when left on at medium to high volume for periods (say beyond 2 hours). I have only used it for extended periods with batteries, so I can only presume that it's a result of the batteries running low. The sound quality can end up so bad it's not worth listening to, but then if you let it rest for a few hours, without changing the batteries, the sound quality starts off great again. I can't really understand this. Can it be a battery effect? I lost the ac adapter, so I can't check if the same effect happens when running off the mains. From reading reviews I think the only similarly decent portable, pocketable mp3 speakers on the market are the JBL On Tour. | REVIEW BY ANONYMOUS ON 03 AUGUST 2008 |

| FANTASTIC! - Scores 5/5
If you're considering looking for speakers for your mp3 player, then this is the one! The sound quality is actually fantastic, even at high volumes. The look is sleek and it comes with a case to protect it's shiny body.
The disadvantage is that the speakers use 6 AAA batteries rather than the usual 4 AA. It does come with an adaptor, however, so that it very very useful. A buy really really worth it. | REVIEW BY ANONYMOUS ON 10 MARCH 2008 |

| JUST THE JOB - Scores 5/5
Bought this for my Sony NWZA816 and works great. Has it's own volume, but if you turn the volume up on your MP3 player it sounds more powerful. It's really neat and light, only the size of a small pencil case and fits into its case like a glove. Has a mains adapter but you can also use 6 AAA Batteries. Perfect for when we go on holiday, it is well worth the money I paid for it which was not a lot. | REVIEW BY ANONYMOUS ON 13 JANUARY 2008 |

| DISAPPOINTED - BUT BETTER THAN AVERAGE FOR A BAD BUNCH - Scores 3/5
Max volume was not so great and I'm not a volume junkie. I've had JBL Ontour's (which went faulty) so I know little speakers are capable of a much better output. The base was good and beat the JBL but distortion occurs with anything more than an averagely base track below the sound level which you really want to listen. Frustrating ! Also I can't believe these speakers are sold without an adapter for a small socket. They come with a 3.5 mm jack only. In summary these are good if you don't mind listening to your music at lower volumes.
Manufactures should be doing a much better job in this section and should not be skimping on quality of the components to make their profit margin. A winner would combine quality design, be well manufactured + have impressive clarity and decent volume (the JBL scores on these) but also have good base. I'd pay another £20 to get all this and it would be worth every penny. I dont think this is asking too much if you consider the sort of sounds cheap mini HiFi's can give. | REVIEW BY ANONYMOUS ON 15 JULY 2007 |

| ACOUSTIC SPEAKERS? ARE THERE ANY OTHER KIND? - Scores 5/5
First impressions of this natty little unit were 'OK-ish, but where's this impressive bass everyone mentions?' The higher frequencies also can be harsh & grating, and the resonant frequency of the little speaker units can be hit all too often by any female vocalist, resulting in an ear-piercing note. In fact, the closer I listened, the more disappointed I became (speaking as a perfectionist audiophile :) Now the good news. These speakers really do benefit from being 'run in', as many people recommend for headphones, and a couple of simple mods. If possible, play the unit continually for a couple of days or more at fairly high (but not distorting) volume (use the power adapter, obviously). The speakers loosen up nicely, and the bass response improves dramatically. Next, try plugging up the ports on the back of the unit, and damping down the enclosure (on the well-known principle that one should hear the speakers and not the box). I used blue tack and electrician's tape inside the rear cover, so nothing spoils the outer appearance. The top end becomes much sweeter, and the sound now has a depth and clarity which is very impressive indeed for such a small unit.
